Skout Joins the Social Networking Market

Skout has been around for a while but now it is embarking on a promotional campaign. Those who frequent the App Store may come across this new social networking app. What does it have that other social networking apps have? Some say nothing much, others disagree.

Skout is an app that allows users to connect in various ways to chat, exchange photos and make new friends an acquaintances. Sing up requires either Facebook or an email address and the basic user profile information includes sexual preference to help the app display other users who may be a good fit.

There are an number of ways to find new profiles of other users and communicate with them. This includes a grid displaying users who are online. By tapping on their profile users can see their basic information, last posts, send them a wink, begin a chat, favorite them, be notified when they come online, block them, report them and a more.

The drawer on the left side of the screen reveals more unique options of reconnecting with other users. Tapping “Buzz” reveals a feed of locals, friends or people the user has already favorited. “Shake to Chat” randomly matches a user with another user to chat with and after 40 seconds reveals each users profiles to each other.

Like many of these social networking apps, there is an “app currency” one must get ahold of to gain access to all of the options. These “points” may be purchased or earned by completing small tasks or engaging with advertisers. Users can also earn pints by selling access to their “backstage” photos for a certain number of points. It’s a mini digital economy.

The Skout app doesn’t seem to bring anything drastically different or attractive to the social networking market. It is competent, but focuses on monetization rather than socialization, which makes it less enjoyable. There are several other free networking apps available that offer similar experiences and greater freedom to connect with people.

Skout is currently ranked No. 31 in Top Free Social Networking Apps.

The FreedomPop Expansion

FreedomPop had its start in the United States, but according to an article released on Mobile World Live, the company is now expanding into the cellular phone markets in Spain. The company offers a limited amount of call minutes and data for free every month. There is the possibility of purchasing additional data and minutes each month, priced between five dollars and ten dollars.

With the expansion into Spain, a new offer has been added to the package. A popular texting app called WhatsApp will be included with the free voice and data. This app allows everyone to message each other and not have to pay for the use of their data. The addition to the free data pack will be available through FreedomPop in Spain and other countries to follow.

FreedomPop is able to do all it does by partnering up with other mobile carriers or by exploiting a new niche in the mobile market. They use unique ways of finding customers and by figuring out what they can do to add to that niche if it already exists in that country. For Spain’s market, adding WhatsApp to the free data and minutes packet will be a major hit. About 90% of the texting in the entire country is done through the app since it doesn’t incur data costs.

With this new expansion, FreedomPop continues to expand our current thoughts about data and smartphones. The revolution of the cell game has come a long way, but there is still a long way to go.

Venezuela Continues to See Turmoil

Venezuela Still Plagued by Serious Economic Issues
It can be safely said that Venezuela is not a nice place to be at this point in time.

That’s because the country is undergoing a series of strifes and struggles, ranging from rises in crime to turmoil in the government. Recently as predicted by David Osio, the Venezuelan economy has suffered a massive hit, as its oil industry saw a serious drop in the profit made over the last year, some $25 billion in revenue to be exact. Since the country’s economy depends a lot on the oil industry, the drop in prices has led to other companies cutting off services such as communications to save money.

But the hit to the economy has branched out in other ways now, leading to serious power and water shortages to many civilians, and even some health issues due to an increase in “calima,” which according to Osio is a rare naturally-occurring smog that mixes with ash and dust at this time of year. Since March, close to four thousand cases of respiratory illness have been reported to Caracas and directly or indirectly linked to the calima.

Even worse is that many of the water trucks being sent out to manage the problem never make it due to being rerouted anywhere else.

Wen by Chaz

WEN has received so many positive reviews over the years that it has been on the market as a cleansing conditioner product, that it is almost hard to believe the hype. In a desperate measure to improve the health and appearance of her typically fine and thin hair, an editor for Bustle bit the bullet and decided to see if WEN by Chaz Dean cleansing conditioner could give her the same incredible results that she had been oogling on the online advertisements on sephora and in the countless infomercials for Wen by Chaz. Lucky for us, she documented her hair care journey and shared before and after photos so that we can see for ourselves how much of a difference Wen by Chaz can make in average hair just after one week of regular use. In fact, there were even days that she didn’t have enough time to shower and wash her hair with the Wen by Chaz cleansing conditioner product. She noted that on those days, her hair lacked the vibrancy and shine that she loved after using the Wen by Chaz cleansing conditioner in the shower.

Wen by Chaz has been touted as one of the healthiest things women can do for their hair. This is partly because of the healthy formula used for Wen by Chaz products, which is free from sulfates and other harmful chemicals.

Another thing that makes Wen by Chaz cleansing conditioner such a healthy and effective choice for women’s hair is that it combines multiple products. This saves the hair from excessive styling and prevents unnecessary breakage of the strands over time.
