Mark Sparks : Thinking Outside the Box with Spark Tank

In case you haven’t heard Mark Sparks is an amazing entrepreneur based in Dallas, Texas. Mark Sparks is of humble origins, but he has managed to reach the top of the business world through a wide variety of highly successful, highly creative businesses.

Not only is he known for his success in business, but his generosity in charity. Today I’d like to tell you about Mark Sparks and his backgrounds, but also about his current project Spark Tank, and innovative way to provide funding and support to social entrepreneurs.

Marc Sparks grew up in Austin, Texas and never stood out much in academics. After all, he was a C student in high school. Nevertheless, Marc was able to make use of his Street Smarts in the business world. Today Mark owns a number of highly successful enterprises ranging from a handcrafted vodka company to a national sulfone distributor to a private equity firm. He has shared his business knowledge in the 2014 page turning how to business book “They Can’t Eat You: my Unorthodox Path to Outrageous Success”.

They called it Samaritan Inn. In addition to that, they also built a transitional living apartment complex in North Texas and are in the process of building a $7 million family shelter. Learning from these experiences they want to help other social entrepreneurs. For that reason they have started Spark Tank.

Having a strong bond with social entrepreneurs that want to make the world a better place Marc and Lynne started Spark Tank to fund grants and oversee accountability from a non-profit management perspective. Applicants must make a 10 minute presentation on their project and present means by which success can be measured. All interested applicants should apply before July, 15th.
