Jonas Lauren Norr

Jonas Lauren Norr is an American Fashion Designer and Entrepreneur. Jonas is the founder of the successful denim brand J. Lauren, which he developed while in college. He studied at Duke University and graduated summa cum laude in 1991 with a degree in Political Science and Economics.

Jonas Lauren Norr first discovered his love for fashion when he was a young boy growing up on New York’s Upper West Side during the 1950s and 1960s. Outfitted by his mother with Dior suits, Brooks Brothers button-downs, and hunting jodhpurs for those Sunday horseback riding dates to Central Park, Jonas quickly came to appreciate clothing as a form of self-expression and an outward representation of one’s success in society. During high school, Jonas earned his first fashion industry gig when he was hired as an assistant window dresser at Saks Fifth Avenue.

During his time in college, Jonas developed a keen interest in the business side of the fashion industry. He founded the American Made Association at Duke University, designed to raise awareness of domestic production and source goods made in America. In addition to his academic pursuits, Jonas began designing and selling custom-made shirts and ties out of an off-campus area called “The Corner.” Word spread quickly about these unique designer items from “J. Lauren,” and demand soon exceeded supply. When Jonas graduated from Duke in 1991, he decided to continue designing and selling J. Lauren merchandise as his full-time occupation.

In 1992, Jonas visited Japan for a business trip that would change his life forever. Simply put, he fell in love with the country. When he returned home to New York City after this trip, he decided to incorporate its most exciting elements into his clothing line: Japanese-inspired fabrics such as raw silk, unbleached linen, chambray, and more; the hand-sewing techniques used by the country’s master artisans; and the subtle use of colors such as taupe and dark tones of blue. He was awarded the “Agri-Business Innovator of the Year” by the Fashion Institute of Technology in 2012. Jonas Lauren Norr is an active philanthropist. He has sponsored numerous educational programs and presented to the United Nations, the United States Department of Energy, and Duke University. Jonas has been a long-time supporter of the American Cancer Society and the Unconditional Love Foundation, which was founded by Alexandra Zaslow, his wife, and former business partner.

Jonas is devoted to the American fashion community and its future. He believes in helping others through his philanthropic efforts and continues to empower students in design, entrepreneurship, fashion, and business. In 2015 Jonas opened J. Lauren University, an online division dedicated to teaching aspiring designers the valuable skills needed to break into a competitive industry.

Jonas Lauren Norr was nominated for the International Best-Dressed Man award by GQ on March 5th, 2018. The Best-Dressed Man winner was announced at the 2018 Academy Awards on March 4th, 2019, in Los Angeles.

Tajuna Sharpe, Roosevelt Island, and the Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation.

The Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation is a nonprofit organization that owns and operates about 13 acres of land on Roosevelt Island, New York City. It began with creating a public-private partnership between the Rockefeller Foundation, the United States federal government and New York State government. What started as a rehabilitation project grew into one of the nation’s largest urban renewal projects that helped revitalize urban areas in New York City during a period of decline in population growth due to suburbanization.

The major purpose of Tajuna Sharpe collaboration was to attract new residents to live in middle-class housing units as part of an effort to reduce poverty. The rehabilitation project on Roosevelt Island involved the following:

The construction of apartment buildings.

The rehabilitation of main townhouses and single-family homes and commercial spaces.

The addition of a large park in the middle.

The result was a mixed-income, mixed-race community on an island in New York City.

The project was called an “island” because it was created by connecting two land masses with fill. What were two separate islands were named North (two isles) and South (three isles) Roosevelt Island before joining them. It is located in the East River between Manhattan (to its south) and Queens (to its north). The estimated population of those living on the island is 4,375 people in housing units (1,561 households), 1,671 people in private dwellings and 772 people in other types of housing, and 839 people employed in residential or nonresidential construction.

The Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation was a collaboration between the government and the foundation to help revitalize Roosevelt Island as a model for urban policies across the nation. “Rehabilitation” meant that residents could buy affordable homes and sell them at a profit after renovating them so that more could be built. The middle-class families intended to live here included immigrants from Latin America, Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, Africa and elsewhere. There were no requirements that the residents specifically be black or Latino. This collaboration to create a mixed-income, mixed-race community had racial implications, but no one talked about race per se. The goals of the cooperation suggest that the goals of racial integration and public housing were not being met or threatened. In addition, those who wanted to live on Roosevelt Island had to meet financial requirements.

When the plans for Roosevelt Island were drawn up, the federal government promised Roosevelt Island would become a racially integrated community. However, when the time came for individuals to move into new apartments, over of them happened to be black or Latino.

Gretchen Robinson is a General Counsel at Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation, a real estate operating company with its own business office and on-site staff. Mrs. Robinson is responsible for the company’s legal work, including drafting and reviewing contracts and managing real estate transactions. As a General Counsel, Mrs. Robinson advises business owners on legal questions surrounding their ventures and provides support as they grow their businesses to provide quality customer service.

1. Education

Gretchen Robinson holds a B.A. in business administration and an M.A. in English Literature, both from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Mrs. Robinson attended law school at the University of Denver, where she earned her Juris Doctor. She was a member of the law review and managed the Legal Review Board.

2. Carrer History

Field work for a Master of Arts thesis on Emma Lazarus, the author of “The New Colossus,” a sonnet on the Statue of Liberty, was completed in 1989 at the New York Public Library. She also wrote her first book: “A Few Important People I’ve Known”Tauchnitz Edition, International Publishers (1993). Mrs. Robinson received a bachelor’s degree in English and history from the University of Colorado at Boulder. At Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation, she serves as general counsel. Mrs. Robinson enjoys travel, theatre, book reading, and sports outside of work and family.

3. Achievements

Mrs. Robinson is currently on the board of directors for the Roosevelt Island Parent Teacher Association. She has previously served on the boards of Roosevelt Island Community Town Watch, Roosevelt Island Historical Society, and Women in Government. She remains active in her community and volunteers at public schools and numerous charitable organizations. Mrs. Robinson was named among 2008’s “Top 25 Women Lawyers in Colorado” by Colorado Law Week Magazine.

4. Awards

Awards for her achievements include being named a “Woman Lawyer of the Year,” having been listed in The National Law Journal as one of the “50 Most Influential Women in Washington” by Governor Gary Locke, and receiving the Denver Post’s “Women In Law Promoting Diversity” award.

Gary McGaghey, Group Chief Financial Officer

Today, Gary is still working on starting up new companies and helping local businesses get off the ground. He is also a part of the new company that he helped found called Law Quest, which focuses on doing research and publishing articles to help educate people in the legal and real estate industry.

Gary grew up on a small farm in Twillingate, Newfoundland and Labrador. He attended school until Grade 8 at Twillingate Consolidated Elementary School. Later he went on to attend high school at Twillingate Academy.

After finishing high school, Gary began working on his family farm. He had been working on this farm since around the age of 12 with his parents and six siblings. He did things such as feed the chickens, clean the pig pens, milk cows and gather hay. In 1992, he moved to St. John’s, Newfoundland where he began working for a company called Thistle Enterprises Ltd., where his father was a partner for that company until 2006.

Today, Gary and his family live in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. He has three children named Emma, Grady and Max. They enjoy spending time together in their free time playing sports such as hockey and golf.

Gary is an active member of the community and has won multiple awards for his contributions to business, entrepreneurship and philanthropy.

He was nominated for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2005 for his work with Williams Lee Group Ltd. and Prosperity Realty. He also won the Atlantic Region Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2010 along with his brother, James McGaghey. Paul Clark, one of the three partners at Williams Lee Group, was nominated for this award as well.

Gary is also very involved in philanthropic projects and causes around Newfoundland and Labrador.

What’s Next for Lebanon, According to Marwan Kheireddine?

Lebanon is in the second year of a civil war. The conflicts in the country have forced many to relocate. Many people in Lebanon are trying to start new lives. Lebanon has been hit hard by neighboring Syria’s political and economic crisis.

Kheireddine, a senior advisor to the United Nations on humanitarian affairs, visited Lebanon to discuss the country’s future after its recent civil war. “The Lebanese people have shown great courage in overcoming the most difficult circumstances and taking steps towards reconciliation,” he said. “The country is moving forward, and it will survive.”

Kheireddine said that while there are still problems in Lebanon, such as the country’s political instability and high levels of unemployment, it is important that the people of Lebanon remain hopeful for their future. “They must continue to move forward with their lives,” he said. “I believe they can do so, and I believe they will do so.”

The Lebanese banker and thought leader Marwan Kheireddine said that Lebanon’s recent civil war resulted from many years of problems and that the country must now focus on improving its political system and rebuilding the country. “There is a need to restructure the state,” he said. “The state needs to be equal for all its citizens. There needs to be a fair power distribution between Christians and Muslims.”

While Lebanon has many threats, Marwan Kheireddine believes the country can overcome them in time. “The Lebanese people have been through a lot,” he said. “They have shown great courage and resilience through it all, and they will continue moving forward with their lives until they reach peace and stability again.”

Due to the war, Lebanon has the second-largest economy in the Middle East after Syria. However, the Lebanese government has yet to modernize its economy, and Kheireddine believes that is one reason for its limited economic progress. “Lebanon has an opportunity to modernize,” Kheireddine told Newsweek.

Kheireddine’s comments followed recent reports that indicate that the Lebanese government is considering offering foreign investors a way to invest in the country. As a result of his country’s limited resources, the banking expert Marwan Kheireddine felt that providing investors with a way to buy, sell, and invest in the country could help improve the economy.

Marwan Kheireddine Recap

Marwan Kheireddine is a Hollywood-based costume designer known for designing costumes in some of Hollywood’s biggest productions, such as “Fifty Shades Darker” and “The Hunger Games.” He has created a multipack of his most recent work, which includes an Emoji costume. He says, “Everyone knows how to use an Emoji, so I decided to design the Emoji costume for zombie walkers this year.”

He originally designed the costume for a high school student named Stephanie who wanted something fun and eye-catching. In his research, he found out that many teenagers use emojis, so he decided it would be perfect as a costume.

“It’s bright, colorful, and people will try to figure out what it is! I’m sure there are some parts of it that they won’t understand. The idea was to have all kinds of crazy emojis in different colors and expressions. I just wanted to do something fun and something that people could identify with,” said Kheireddine.

There are a total of six different costumes in the package: a zombie look down, a zombie walker on all fours, the guy behind the zombie wearing EmojiCostumes.com sunglasses, two additional female zombies, and an emoji king costume that is an undershirt and pants combo you can wear with other outfits.

“I wanted it to be ‘cool’ because if you’re going out in public wearing this, it’s not safe. It’s a little bit of a risk, so it’s got to be a good quality product,” he said.

Kheireddine created and designed the costumes in the last six months and even worked with his friend, Jared Hyman, from the group $ocial Pictures. The group includes Hyman, Tristan Kelly, Matt Keeley, and Ben Nodler. Together they are called $o$k4d4th and have created over 200 outfits for characters such as zombies.

One of the other costumes in the package is an emoji king costume that you can wear with a hoodie which makes it “kinda cool because you can wear it with any outfit.
