Ross Levinsohn is also known for his work at Yahoo!, where he transformed four struggling businesses into successful digital media franchises – creating value for all stake holders through innovation, technology leadership, market leadership, operational excellence and operational excellence .
A successful entrepreneur and business leader, Ross is the Co-founder and Managing Partner of Alta Communications, an advisory firm focused on digital media. He co-founded Carat Technology Ventures, a VC Group focused on digital media and as Sports Illustrated CEO
Ross Levinsohn’s experience includes serving on the Board of Directors for Fox Sports Interactive; Fox Broadcasting Co’s online sports initiative; as well as for Fox Interactive Media, and Fusion East and West.He is currently a member of the Advisory Board at Matter Ventures, Vice Chairman at Starwood Capital Group and serves as a Board Director for the Ad Council.His mission is to help his teams and their corporate partners focus on the opportunities and challenges of their respective businesses.
Levinsohn was the CEO and Chairman of GSN Games from April 2017, a subsidiary of Lionsgate Entertainment Corporation, where he oversaw the growth and profitability of the business. Prior to that, he served as President at Yahoo!, responsible for all consumer-facing digital media properties – including Search, Mail, News and Finance Groups. He also has held senior executive positions with Palm (now part of Hewlett Packard), Starwave (now AOL) and RealNetworks.
Sports Illustrated CEO and Yahoo! board member Ross Levinsohn has been named interim chief executive of Tribune Publishing, effective immediately.The 42-year-old, who has served on Tribune’s board for the past year and a half, replaces Randy Michaels, who resigned from the company following claims that he created a hostile work environment at his last post as CEO of Discovery Communications.Levinsohn will also join James Crivello, head of professional sports and entertainment at Yahoo!, on the board at that company.
