Haroldo is looking to support 20 institutions in the city of Curitiba and the region with a new program, “Project Support.” The project has already begun work, with the first institution being helped to be Universidade Federal do Paraná.
The Project Support program encourages institutions by providing them with various types of expertise and technical assistance. This includes advice on better leveraging institutional experience into teaching and research to improve institutional performance and quality. Other activities include general management in specific areas of study and training.
To determine whether an institution meets the program’s requirements, Haroldo Jacobovicz Institute facilitates the evaluation of each institution by a team of researchers, who will assess essential factors such as the quality and quantity of teachers, how well the institution can use its resources for teaching and research and its ability to provide relevant information about its programs.
The project team will present their findings to the institution to explain the legitimacy of their proposals, with Haroldo Jacobovicz Institute’s recommendations coming after this. Haroldo Jacobovicz Institute has a significant history in higher education, with its first project in Spain’s Valencia region in 1982. Since then, the institute has partnered with 25 institutions in Europe and the Americas, with over $2 billion invested in them. This project will be carried out under a public partnership model. The program’s duration is unknown, and its budget will come from voluntary donations.
The Haroldo Jacobovicz Institute is one of Brazil’s most influential non-governmental organizations, having been involved in numerous projects supporting culture, education, and social development. The institute, founded in 1998, has headquarters in Curitiba with various regional offices throughout the country. These offices are present in more than ten countries throughout the world.
